Inviting your team
Bring risk owners, department leads, and leadership into the workspace with the right access.
Risk work is only as good as its ownership, so bring the team in early. Members you invite work in the same workspace, see the same register, and take accountability for the risks assigned to them.
Sending invitations
Open the members section of your team account and invite colleagues by email. Each invitation carries a role. When the invitee accepts, they join the workspace with the access that role provides.
Choosing a role
Start simple:
- Owner: full access, including billing and member management. Keep this to one or two people.
- Member: day-to-day access to the register, controls, and claims.
- Custom roles: if your agency separates duties, for example a read-only audit role, define a custom role with the specific permissions it needs.
Roles are described in detail in Roles and permissions.
A workable onboarding sequence
A pattern that works for most teams:
- Invite the risk team first and build the initial register together.
- Invite department leads next, and assign them ownership of their departmental risks.
- Give leadership a reporting view, either as members or through a read-only custom role.
Ownership follows the person
When a risk has an owner, reviews and overdue items route to that owner. Assign an owner to every risk in the register before the first reporting cycle. Unowned risks are the ones that go stale.
When someone leaves
Remove departing members from the workspace. Their risks stay in the register. Reassign ownership promptly so no risk loses its accountable owner during staff changes.
